Walker Hester - call sign "Boxer" - hailed from Memphis, TN. He went to Navy AOCS as a young Lion and became a member of the legendary AV833 Sidewinders.
After commissioning, Walker went on to earn his wings, and was assigned to fly VIP’s around the world in T-39s and C-9s, later moving on to flying airliners with Delta. As an airline pilot, he lived life to its fullest, including scuba diving, skiing, motorcycles, powered paragliding and adventure travel, but his passion for flying eventually led Walker to purchase a surplus Jet Provost, a former trainer. He formed a 401(c)3 charitable corporation and launched his secondary career as a prison ministry airshow pilot, eventually leading to regular performances at traditional airshows. Throughout all this activity, he managed to have a family (his daughter being his greatest love, of course) and became a devout Christian, always compassionate enough to respect and help others with less fortunate means. Walker had to overcome many obstacles in his life, including some serious health challenges and recovery from injuries received pushing the envelope on some of his adventures, but his persistently optimistic attitude served as a shining beacon for those who knew him as well as those who only knew of him. He went West doing what he loved most, flying above and beyond, and touching the hand of God.
