Walter J. Kearns Jr., of Pittsburgh, PA, has loved aviation since his youth. Walt and his flying colleagues built and maintained various aircraft for use as private pilots. He creatively utilized these aircraft to help with his courtship and eventual marriage to Mary O. Martin.

Over the years Walt has nurtured many children, including his own, through aviation via Civil Air Patrol, Boys Clubs, and elementary school flight demonstrations. He is one of the founders and charter members of the Steel City Soarers Radio Control Flying Club. Walt’s name on the Wall of Honor is resolute to his love of flying and desire to share this passion with others.
