    Walter Krieger was born May 20 , 1916 in Buffalo New York. During his early school years Walt was involved in different varsity sports. During World War II Walt enlisted in the United Sates Marine Corp and was sent of to Parris Island, South Carolina for basic training. Upon completion of Boot Camp Walt was stationed in Hawaii and later to the Pacific where he was involved in several island hoping campaigns. Walt was selected for officer training but chose to leave the Marine Corps and pursue a career with the airline industry. Walt was discharged honorably from the Marine Corps on December 7th 1945 from the Marine Aviation Separation Unit One, MCAB, Cherry Point, N.C. achieving the rank of sergeant at the time of his discharge.

    Walt applied for a position within the airline industry and was hired by American Airlines in May of 1946. Walt spent over 35 years working for American Airlines where he rose to the position of Area Sales Manager for Los Angeles and several other surrounding counties. During his time with American he was also based in Buffalo, N.Y. and Chicago, IL.

    Walt's career afforded him the opportunity to meet and travel with many dignitaries, from astronauts to heads of states, traveling to many exciting locations, from the United States to the Far East, Europe and all points in between. Along with his successful airline career Walt was a successful family man having been married to his American Airline sweetheart, the former Shirley Graves for over fifty years until his death from natural causes in April of 2007.
