Walter Louis Baldwin, my father, became interested in technology early in his life. Inspired by Lindbergh’s Atlantic crossing he obtained his private pilot’s license and flew at every opportunity he could find in the late 1920’s and the early 1930’s . Unfortunately, the depression prevented him from continuing and fulfilling his dream of finding employment as a pilot. Through his support and enthusiasm for aviation I became an engineer and have been able to contribute to many aerospace projects. Through my father’s line I am distantly relate to Alan Shepard. His wife, Louise was my third cousin. My father born June 14, 1907 in Philadelphia was the son of Aaron William Baldwin and Jane Stuart Poulton.
