    Wayne I. Hollrah....April 23, 1939....St. Charles, Missouri. After graduating from U. of Missouri in Columbia, Hollrah entered USAF. Completed Pilot training, & advanced training in C-124 a/c. Assigned to 3It TCS Dover AFB Delaware. Received the assignment to Vietnam in C-7A and during the 15 months with 536th TCS @ Ving Tau, Capt. Hollrah flew approx. 1400 combat hours completing 4500 sorties. One of these sorties was an emergency airdrop of ammunition to re-supply a Special Forces Squad that was out of ammunition. This squad had been pinned down in the Seven Mountains region of "The Delta". The drop was completed successfully in near darkness and under hostile fire. This squad was later rescued. The DFC was awarded as a result of this flight.
    Capt. Hollrah returned to civilian status after Vietnam, and completed 31+ years as International Captain with Trans World Airlines. Capt. Hollrah, wife Deonna and son AJ reside in Leawood, Kansas. He also has five married sons and daughters and 10 grandchildren, and two more on the way as of this date.
