Honored by:

Immediately after Pearl Harbor, civilian volunteers were activated for aircraft spotter duty near San Diego, CA. We were part of the Aircraft Warning Service (AWS), worked in shifts and were stationed at hilltop sites east of town. Our site'?’s code was Yoke 68 (Later, 39 Fisher 2). I was in junior high school at the time.
