I’ve included my father, Willard, in our profile, who plopped me in the back seat of a Piper J-5 Cub at age 3, for his flying lesson…and I was hooked. He drove me to my flying lessons starting at age 13, and at age 81, I’m still flying my sixth airplane, a 1957 Piper Tri-Pacer. My life-long flying adventure includes flying for the airlines, writing for Flying magazine and AOPA Pilot, and receiving The Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award in 2020. It’s an honor to honor all those in aviation who came before and who will follow.
