Bill Monroe started his 30 year aviation/space career as a flight instructor in the original Army Air Corps which became the Air Force. After WW11, he entered the private sector at Martin Marietta, then General Dynamics and Hayes Aircraft .
Well know projects that Bill worked on were the Martin Matador, USA's first satellite, the Saturn 5 and the C5.
Bill loved his family, his country and aviation.
