    My husband was a sergeant in the Army Air Forces during World War II. His family owned William L. Burgoyne Aircraft in New York and Washington, D.C. during the 1940s and 50s.

    He was a commercial pilot and operated his own crop dusting service in Utah from 1960 through 1972 while obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy degree in biology. At one time he was one of two known men in the world who were scientists and did aerial application of pesticides.

    William Burgoyne died September 30, 2000.
