    ?»?William E. Clausen enlisted in the Army Air Corps December 12, 1941. He proudly served our country in the Air Force until 1962. During his time in the Air Force he served 2 years from 1942 to 1944 during WWII in England, Germany, Belgium, Holland and France. During this tour he was crew chief on B-26 bombers. After that he was stationed in the Philippines for 2 years and was crew chief on B-29 bombers. His next assignment was during the Korean War where he was stationed in Yokota, Japan from 1950 to 1952. His squadron flew 37 combat missions aboard the B-29 bombers. During the Korean War his daughter, Marilyn Gail, was born. When he returned to the states he was stationed in Spokane, Washington where his son, William Allen, was born. He and his family then moved multiple times including 3 years in Anchorage, Alaska from 1956 to 1959 when Alaska became a state. His career in the United States was all with the Strategic Air Command. He continues to be very proud of his service to our country.
