    Honored by:

Born in 1966 in the small East Texas town of Woodville, William Michaux hasn't yet completed the first half of his working career. However, he has already made significant contributions to the space industry that will have a long lasting impact.
After graduating from High School in Woodville, William attended the University of Texas in Austin completing a Bachelors of Science in Aerospace Engineering in 1990. Having already accumulated a year of experience working for Lockheed Engineering and Sciences Corporation (LESC) at NASA in Houston, he returned to NASA to work for Rockwell Space Operations Company (RSOC) as a Space Shuttle Mission Planner.
At NASA, William performed mission analysis and design for many high profile Space Shuttle missions including the rescue of a misplaced Intelsat satellite, the second Hubble Space Telescope servicing mission, and the first visit of the Space Shuttle to the Russian MIR space station. Before leaving NASA, he served as the mission planning liaison between the Space Shuttle and International Space Station (ISS) programs. William was a key player in developing the ground rules and constraints that are required of all vehicles that visit the ISS.
In 1997, William left NASA to work for Motorola during its deployment of the multi-billion dollar Iridium satellite telephone communication system. While at Motorola, he led the development of the software responsible for scheduling all of the activities of the 70+ satellites and 12 ground stations in the system. After the activation of the Iridium system, William went on to hold numerous positions working on various commercial, scientific, and military spacecraft. With still more than half of his career ahead of him, Mr. William Michaux is on track to make many more significant contributions to the nation's space programs.
