    Profile: Mr. William J. Bossoli was born in Hamden, Connecticut on May 18, 1919. He is an accomplished tool/die maker who has done work in several industries.

    In relation to his contribution to aeronautics, Mr. Bossoli worked for Pratt and Whitney, an aircraft engine company, in Connecticut from 1961 to 1966. He began as a model and tool/die maker in 1961. In 1962 he became an instructor for Pratt and Whitney, teaching other employees the necessary skills needed to work on the companies jet aircraft engines. From 1964 to 1966, Mr. Bossoli worked in a specialized area of the company making gages for the testing aircraft turbo engines.

    After a hiatus from the aeronautics industry from 1966 to 1983, he took a job working for TurboMotive, a repair and overhaul facility for Allison, Honeywell and Pratt and Whitney gas turbine engines. At this particular company in Connecticut, he utilized his specialized machinist skills on repairing gas turbine engines and overhauling special jet turbine assemblies. He was also involved with the company's manufacture of aircraft engine test cells that are used throughout the aircraft industry.

    Mr. Bossoli retired in 1991.
