    Wall of Honor Level:
    Air and Space Friend

    Honored by:

During World War II, in 1944, graduated from aerial gunners’ school at Harlingen, Texas. After crew assignment, completed training for combat replacement crews at Tucson, Arizona. Served as a tail-gunner on Consolidated B-24 Liberators, assigned to the Eighth Air Force, then a part of the Army Air Forces. Our crew became operational with the 577th Bombardment Squadron, 392nd Bombardment Group (Heavy) at Station 118 near Wendling in East Anglia, England. Participated in the air offensive on occupied Europe, more particularly – Germany. Attained the rank of Staff-Sergeant. From the Eighth Air Force’s humble beginning to become the mightiest air armada of all time – I’m proud to have participated, just a “little bit,” in that historical endeavor. Also, served during the Korean War in the U.S. Air Force.
