    Mr. Jann’s flight experience began during World War II, when he flew 33 aerial combat missions in a B24 Liberator over Germany while assigned to the 8th Air Force, England.
    Mr. Jann spend 42 years directing the research, design, development, production, and deployment of major missile systems for the US Army as a civilian engineer and program manager. His work included the Army’s Corporal, Sergeant, Redstone, Jupiter, and Pershing weapon systems as well as other surface to surface missile systems. His last government position was “Deputy Program Manager” (chief civilian) for the Army’s DX priority rated Pershing Missile System. At that time, it was the Army’s most technically advanced, longest range, and terminally guided missile system. In addition to many other awards received during his career, he was awarded the Army’s “Exceptional Civilian Service” Medal by the Secretary of the Army at his retirement in 1980.
    After a very successful and challenging government career, Mr. Jann remained actively engaged in all missile life cycle phases as an independent consultant to both the Government and private industry until 1998.
    Concurrent with his civilian career, Mr. Jann remained active as a reserve officer until his military retirement as Colonel, US Army. He and his wife chose Hilton Head Island, South Carolina as their retirement home.
