Honored by:
Mr. William Bowder
My aviation career began in 1973. Entering the US Air Force I was trained as an Aircraft Mechanic. My first base was Chanute AFB in Illinois, training there on B-52s. After initial training I was sent to Dover AFB, Delaware. The aircraft I was assigned to was a Lockheed C-5A #68-0224. From time to time C-141s and other aircraft would come through the base -- these we would service also.
Leaving the Air Force in Dec of 1975, this ended my aviation career for a while. My interest in flying was reignited by a pilot friend once again. On Dec 26, 1993 I took my first lesson as a student pilot. April 3, 1994 was a great day as I soloed N61990, a Cessna 172N. I have been flying ever since.
Aircraft flown so far:
Cessna Skyhawk 172
Cessna 152
Gulfstream AA5B Tiger
Piper Cherokee PA-28
Beechcraft Skipper BE-77
Schweizer Glider SG-52-33
