    William L. Reimsnider, Jr. (call sign RIP) joined the USAF in 1953. RIP ended his active duty service in 1966 at the rank of Major as an aircraft commander with the 325th Bomb Squadron of the Strategic Air Command (SAC). In 1961, as part of the SAC Annual Bombing & Navigation Competition, RIP’s crew placed as one of the top B-47 units. He also flew B-52s throughout much of the Cold War era. RIP remained in the USAF National Guard until 1973. He also became a pilot with United Airlines, retiring after 27 years at the rank of Captain. Over the course of his careers, he accrued over 17,500 hours of flight time (USAF 3,471; United 14,148).

    He married his life partner, Beatrice Joan Tysinger Reimsnider, in 1957 and is the loving father of 3, grandfather of 6, and great-grandfather of 2.
