Born at Patrick AFB in Florida just 20 minutes south of Cape Canaveral, Bill's exposure to space and rockets was engrained early on. As a boy, Bill would often sit with his dad in the backyard at night watching the rockets lanch from the Cape. While he enjoyed the launches, he was more of a model airplane builder and tinker and never seriously pursued building and flying rockets. However, in 1997 Bill was hired to build model rockets as part of a scaled tracking platform to simulate actual rocket launches. From that moment on he was hooked.

Bill considers his current residence in New Mexico to be the birth place of space flight because of White Sands Missile Range, it's history with the German scientists and the numerous flights that have occurred there as the prelude to space flight. He is most passionate towards scale versions of actual rockets, some of his favorites which include the V-2, Viking, Black Brant, and many of the Sounding rockets. Currently Bill's collection includes upward of 150+ flying rockets. He has also dedicated a significant portion of his life to gathering up original photographs of rockets launched in the late 1940's through the 1960's. A great many of these photos have been used in numerous space and flight publications.

A longstanding member of his local rocket club, he has held most of the club officer positions and is considered an important consultant to new and seasoned enthusiasts. Although his formal education is in SW Engineering, he values his time teaching school age kids about rockets and regularly dedicates a few days a year to holding rocket building classes in the schools. As he watches a child build his or her first rocket and see it ascend into the sky, he hopes that with this lesson in rocketry that their dreams of science and space make them reach for the stars.
