    Career in aerospace began with two years of service in the Army Air Force during World War II. Enlisted as an Aviation Cadet but was ultimately trained in B-24 aircraft and engine maintenance. Last assignment was as a supply technician with a B-17 squadron in Germany in 1946. Returned to school to complete a degree in Physics. Also completed a two year course in Aeronautical Engineering at Northrop Aeronautical Institute. Held a number of technical and management positions in the aerospace industry after graduation in 1949.

    Joined North American Aviation, Inc., Los Angeles in1950. Employed with an advanced design group and participated in the preliminary design and analysis of a number of aircraft including the YB-70 supersonic bomber and the X-15 research aircraft. Also participated as part of the team that prepared the first proposal for the Apollo program.

    Joined The Aerospace Corporation in 1962 and was involved in the design and development of the Titan III Standard Space Launch System at the Los Angeles Office and in similar work at the San Bernardino Office on Intercontinental Ballistic Missile systems and their associated airborne and ground systems.

    Obtained private pilot's license in 1968.

    Joined Science Applications International Corporation in La Jolla, CA in 1972. Was engaged in national security technology and policy studies, mostly concerned with the impact of new technology on aircraft and missile system development. Retired from SAIC after almost 15 years but continued on with the company as a part time consultant until 1995.

    Became a volunteer at the San Diego Aerospace Museum in 1988 in the library and has been a docent since 1990.
