I, along with 70,000 some-odd in the States, enlisted in the Army Air Corps (I was too old (27) for Air Corps Cadets which had an age limit of 26-1/2). I had thirty days (Link instrument) and I would have been sent to Randolph, but someone disbanded our programs and started training the "WASPS." If I could have continued flying, I would have stayed for the full thirty years.
