Since its large-scale publication in 2014, The Martian has become a cultural phenomenon. In addition to the book’s accolades, the motion picture of the same name was released in 2015 to great acclaim. In fact, The Martian inspired the largest number of applications to the astronaut program than ever before in history.
National Air and Space Society members are invited to this program featuring The Martian author Andy Weir. Weir and curator of earth and planetary science Matt Shindell will explore The Martian's impact and revisit key scenes in the novel.
Join us in person at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Virginia or watch online. Registration is required for both the in-person event and the virtual live stream of the program.
