Free tickets are required for the outdoor fly-in. The outdoor fly-in is sold out.
The indoor activities are not ticketed.

Happening Outside: Innovations in Flight

See over 50 unique aircraft, flown in for one day only, at this annual event outside at the Museum's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Virginia.

Explore the engineering and design innovations that have taken place during the last century of flight. Talk with pilots of vintage and modern aircraft, on display outside the Museum for one day only.

Record breaking and history making pilots from across the United States are bringing their aircraft for you to check out in person. Get up in personal with the engine, climb into the cockpit, or simply marvel at it from the tarmac.

No Tickets Required Soar Together Family Day

Museum guests will explore the future of aviation through the lens of advanced air mobility (AAM), a new concept of air transportation that incorporates vertical takeoff and landing, automated systems, and electric propulsion systems to move people and cargo in non-traditional environments.

Inclement Weather

If there is severe inclement weather, the outside portion of the event will be cancelled. The inside portion of the day will continue as planned. Check back for updates.
