How did science fiction inspire air and space inventions we see in use today and in our everyday lives? Join us as we explore this question, from the way we communicate and connect with one another, or explore our planet and others!
Join us for a reading of Chris Gall’s There’s Nothing to Do on Mars for a retro-futuristic science fiction glimpse into colonizing other planets. Would you rather have a robot dog or a rocket scooter? What technology do you use today that only existed in imaginative stories when your parents were your age?
After the story, draw a picture of a gadget that you hope will exist in the future.
Join us for Air and Space Adventures, our monthly virtual game using the app GooseChase!
Our game features fun missions, activities and photo challenges for you and your friends and family to do together, featuring content and activities about all things air and space. Earn points with every activity you complete! This month’s missions are all about how science fiction has inspired innovations we use in our everyday lives.
We rely on the generous support of donors, sponsors, members, and other benefactors to share the history and impact of aviation and spaceflight, educate the public, and inspire future generations. With your help, we can continue to preserve and safeguard the world’s most comprehensive collection of artifacts representing the great achievements of flight and space exploration.
