Solstice Saturday
Stay up late to celebrate the summer solstice up and down the National Mall! As part of the Smithsonian-wide Solstice Saturday celebration, the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC, will be open until 11 pm and will offer activities inside the Museum. The Astronomy Festival on the National Mall will take place inside the Arts + Industries Building on Jefferson Drive SW.
Inside the Museum - SOLD OUT:
- Planetarium shows
- Trivia challenges
- Air and Space Adventures game
- Hands-on science activities
- Mars Café open until 8 pm
- Museum store open until 10 pm
Inside the Arts + Industries Building, 900 Jefferson Drive SW (free, no passes needed):
- Astronomy Festival on the National Mall, hosted by Hofstra University
- Activities with NASA and other science organizations
- Meet an Astronomer
- Explore telescopes and images of the sky
The festival is taking place indoors due to expected rainy weather.
