This collection consists of thirty-five photographs of helicopter and autogiros, many undergoing testing by the United States Navy. Craft featured include the Pitcairn PA-22 Cabin Autogiro, Hiller XHOE-1 (Hiller HJ-1) Hornet (serial number 46446) and Sikorsky (VS-316A, S-48) HNS-1 (39046 and 39050). Locations include the U.S. Naval Air Station, Patuxent River, MD; the C.G. Air Station, Brooklyn, NY; and on the sea as the Royal Navy conducts shipboard tests on the British freighter MV Daghenstan. Also included is a 33' by 17' drawing of a Pitcairn Autogiro ca. 1934-1935 and the short memoir, 'The Story of Flight 1917-1919 and Recollections of Its Members.'
