Round engraving on paper depicting a profile portait of Francesco Zambeccari. The print is matted and framed. An Italian Count, Zembeccari, with the assistance of Michael Biaggini built and flew the first small hydrogen balloon in London on November 4, 1783. A soldier and adventurer who earned a reputation as "The Mad Count of Bologna" Zambecarri made a number of flights during the last decade of the 18th century.
