    Ceramic box with hinged lid, for jewelry or other small items. Lid and lip of base edged in silver. Hinge also made of silver. Lid is hand painted with a scene of a balloon and gondola in the sky with two people in the gondola. "1783" is painted under the gondola. The sides and interior of the box are decorated with a fern motif.
