Silver foil covered flat metal sphere with for petal opening. The petals are each operated by a three-spring mechanism. The petals are held closed by a nut and washer on the top. On the inside of the object is white painted metal with a square (14.5 inches) instrument box in the center. There are four instrument bays in the box. The only bay that is occupied contains the MOx experiment. The three other bays are covered with aluminum panels. The MOx experiment measures 8.5 x 3.5 inches, and has two red aluminum buttons. The overall dimensions of the station are 22 inches in diameter (closed), and 50 inches (opened). The height is 9 inches
