• Toy Lantern Envelope

    Envelope for a set of paper lanterns. Lanterns are meant to be lit, which would cause them to ascend. Sparks would then come from the paper caused by the aluminum paint printed onto the lantern. Bottom of the envelope states that it originally held a set of ten lanterns, but only three lanterns are left. The image and text on the front of the envelope is very similar to the front of the lanterns. Copyright September 1896.
