• Cup, Passenger Carrying Record, John G. Gilpatric

    This brass trophy cup is covered in a gold wash with a tracery design on the bowl. The handles, stem and base are in silver and it has an inscription on the front of the bowl reading "Awarded by the Los Angeles Evening Herald to John Guy Gilpatric, aviator for breaking American passenger carrying altitude flight in Deperdussin Aeroplane at Dominguez Field, November 28, 1912". Brass with gold wash (especially thin gold plating) and silver decorative elements.
