Cylindrical lower or tail section of rocket, hollow, tapering down with four clipped delta fins rivetted on in cruciform arrangement at bottom. Four individual, moveable jet deflectors screwed onto middle of trailing edge of each fin (screws to permit tilting of deflectors). All deflectors with scorch marks, indicating this tail section was used. Rectangular attachments, at equi-distant points, protruding from top rim of tail section, for attaching tail piece to main rocket body. Most fin sides painted black on one side for ease in visibly tracking rocket during flight and determining its stability (shifts in the rocket's axis). Overall, bare (gray) metal color. Deflector arms with surface rust. One half of the rocket section at the bottom painted all black; the other half not painted. Two fins, black on both sides; two fins, black and one side only. Body of tail piece rivetted. Wood block in base (for attachment to display rod only.)
