Rectangular with upright, straight metal seat in middle and nine inert 5KS-4500 JATO solid fuel rocket motors mounted horizontally in steel rack at rear of sled; sled fitted on both sides with rail shoes or sliders, which rest on short lengths of rail tracks on both sides; overall, painted orange with white band on front and along sides and words "Sonic Wind No. 1" painted on each side of sled. Originally made of chrome-molybdenum tubing.
8/9/17 - original TMS weight was 1880 lb. USArt reported weight of 11,000 lb. when lifted for transport. New Mexico Museum of Space History curator speculated concrete may have been poured into the rocket engines when decomissioned. Excess weight is concentrated to the rear.
