The fall of Phaeton__the Blow Up of the Whig Club __ Or, the Majesty of the People An anti-Whig satirical cartoon apparently commenting on the Regency crisis of 1788-1789, on which occasion Charles James Fox, shown as Phaeton falling from his chariot, argued that the Prince of Wales had a right to install himself as Regent as a result of his father, George III's, incapacity.
