Globe Aërostatique, Dédié à Monsieur Charles. Pastoral scene, with tricolored balloon at the center. Solo balloonist in gondola with red pennant. Crowd includes two horsemen, a figure up a tree on the left hand side and a man with a dog. This print is a depiction of Professor Jacques Charles solo ascent from the spot where he and M.N. Robert had just concluded the world's first gas balloon voyage. Robert accorded Charles the honor of making a solo ascent at the end of the day.
