Cylindrical, fitted onto larger diameter cylinder. The latter contains the internal copper lined exhaust nozzle. Screwed to the opposite side of the exhaust nozzle cylinder is the AC 104 spark plug igniter. On the top cylinder are six steel guide bolts placed vertically at equi-distant points on both sides. Overall, rust color. Overall made of steel; internal is copper exhaust nozzle; spark plug, partly ceramic; AC 104 is marked on the spark plug. Number 59 engraved or stamped on two opposite sides on top cylinder of engine, possibly indicating this was number 59 of 150 built. In between these numbers is the letter A, possibly indicating the motor used an Asphalt based propellant, or was built especially for the Asphalt-based (GALCIT) propellants. (The A could not have stood for Aerojet as Aerojet was formed the follow year of the Ercoupe JATO experiments, in 1942.)
