Motor, Solid Fuel, Project Mercury Retro; also Designated TE-316
Cylindrical, mainly steel, with protruding exhaust nozzle affixed at end from recessed bottom; recessed on top; yellow-green chromate finish; fired; with igniters, but no wires visible; white manufacturer's label on side of cylinder, with black printing; overall, badly corroded, with white splotches down nozzle as a result of the chemical conversion of the resin in the phenolic nozzle after firing, and considerable peeling of chromate paint exposing shiny base metal, mainly on top (rounded section) of motor.
