Watercolor painting on paper depicting Getting Up Ahead, 2 December 1972. The USS Ticonderoga is docked at Pearl Harbor as seen at night from aft, enlisted in the service of Apollo 17. The deck of the ship is luminously colored like a carnival at night. Most of the structures have the same height except for one tall pole on the left. Two red dots are in the upper right of the black sky, and a red helicopter is identifiable just above the ship on the right. The majority of the scene is grey and black, but with some blue and purple washing down the center and yellow illuminating the structure on the far right.
