Detector, Neutrino, Photomultiplier, Kamiokande II

Oblate spherical glass bulb with short tubular extension ending in a plastic and mixed metal electronic connector. Top half of bulb has a fine metallic coating that gives it a bronze cast which is rapidly fading due to a vacuum leak. As it evaporates the internal electrical components are made visible. Bottom half is partially silvered.
