    A medal suspended from a red, white and blue ribbon. The ribbon is attached on the opposite end to a metal pin that reads "Mayor Committee on Reception." The medal itself has a relief of the Spirit of St. Louis in the clouds above the New York City coat of arms. "WE" appears between the plane and coat of arms. The sides of the medal each have a wing that extends upwards along its side.
