Ink and Wash painting on paper. USS Yorktown: Apollo 8, Dec 68. A plane waits on the deck of the carrier that served as the recovery ship for Apollo 8. The large rounded structure on top of the plane has radar concealed in it. To the right of the tower of radar equipment in the background is the conical-shaped space capsule. The composition is basically triangular and several figures are loosely sketched on the surface of the carrier deck.
