This is a flying boost/glider model called the Flat Cat. It was built in the 1950s by G. Harry Stine, one of the American pioneers in the field of flying rocket and missile models. It is not known whether it was flown. The model is made of wood, aluminum, and steel. A solid propellant rocket motor propels the model, and then at the end of the vertical flight it forces the release of a parachute. The model is then retrieved and can be used again. The model was also donated by G. Harry Stine in 1973.
