This stand is stored with the three items that could be used to demonstrate various principles of mechanics in weightlessness. The kit may have been considered for use aboard Skylab. Several similar kits were stowed on the space station, but this bag is labeled "Not for Flight" and is dated 1975, a year after the Skylab missions ended. The astronauts used Skylab as a classroom in space, filming a variety of science demonstrations during their 1973-74 missions. These films were then sent to schools for use in classrooms around the country.

Transferred from NASA to the Museum in 1982.
