Type ART-Miscellaneous Medium Box, Snuff Physical Description Round snuff box. Base and lid made of a single piece of cross-cut wood. Lid is inset with a balloon scene that is relief carved into a piece of vegetable or hippo ivory with green coloring. The scene shows a crowd on the ground observing a balloon in the sky. The scene is in a gold-colored metal frame. The interior of the box is lined with tortoise shell. Dimensions Overall (Dia. x W): 7.6 × 3.2cm (3 × 1 1/4 in.)
