Hasselblad cameras like this one were staple equipment on U.S. space flights for nearly 50 years. The brand offered NASA high-quality images and the latest in photographic technology. This electronic model imprinted the date and time of each image on the film so it could be matched to the computer-controlled location of the Shuttle at any point in time. This took the guesswork out of determining the spot on Earth in each photograph. NASA switched to digital Nikon and other brand cameras in the early 21st century.

NASA transferred this camera to the Musem in 2008.
