This is an example of a Canadian Forces aviation officer's service cap.

Unification of the Canadian Forces took place in February 1968, when the Royal Canadian Navy, Canadian Army, and Royal Canadian Air Force were merged to form the Canadian Forces

As part of unification, the three services lost their status as separate legal entities. The Canadian Forces Air Attache's Office at the Canadian Embassy donated this cap to the National Air and Space Museum as a gift of international goodwill and cooperation.
