Physical Description

Wood dance card case, or 'carnet de bal.' Exterior of case is painted with ballooning scenes. One side shows a man and woman looking up at a balloon in the sky. The other shows a smilar, but wider, balloon flying over ruins, with no people on the ground. Interior is painted red. Case originally had a hinged lid, but hinge is currenly broken. Edges of base and lid of case are lined in silver where they meet. Case still has two ivory dance cards. Only two cards are currently present, but originally there were more and they were hinged like a fan. One of the cards has 'kiss me darling' handwritten in pencil on the surface. The pencil is also currently missing from the case.
