This certificate and citation were part of the U.S. Air Force's Distinguished Flying Cross awarded to Lieutenant Colonel Michael Collins on 6 March 1967. The award is given to members of the Air Force who perform extraordinary achievements while participating in aerial flight. Lt. Col. Collins received it for his service as an astronaut on the Gemini X mission, which flew from 18 to 21 July 1966. During the mission, among other things, the Gemini X spacecraft rendezvoused and docked with two Agena target vehicles and Lt. Col. Collins performed two extra-vehicular activities.
