Black matte finish on mount and cylindrical case. The face of the indicator is a circular compass rose with North at the top. It is marked with a letter at the cardinal points (N, S, E, W). Numbers are at each 30 degree point (3, 6, 12, etc). There are large white lines at each lettered and numbered position. A smaller line marks each 10 degree point and a smaller line for each 2 degrees between the 10 degree marks. There are two pointers. A wide pointer serves as a manually set heading marker. The thin pointer serves as a station indicator. Three corners of the mount have holes drilled for mounting screws with lock nuts. The forth corner of the mount has knob for setting heading pointer. The connector on the rear of the case is externally threaded and has four pins and an alignment pin.
