This cookie was baked aboard the International Space Station during Expedition 61 in late 2019. Enjoying familiar activities and comfort foods as part of daily life in space may make long trips easier to bear. A project between Zero-G Kitchen, DoubleTree by Hilton, and Nanoracks developed a space-friendly oven and aluminum-trimmed silicone baking sleeves. Astronauts used the equipment to experiment with cookie baking times and temperatures. This was the fifth of five cookies baked as part of the experiment and evaulations showed it to be the closest to expected doneness.

The cookie was donated to the Smithsonian by Hilton, Nanoracks, and Zero-G Kitchen.
