This A1-C glove was worn by astronaut walter (Wally) Schirra during training sessions prior to the Apollo missions in the middle 1960s.

A1-C gloves were designed for heavy duty service with an outer glove made of white nylon, as protection for the inner glove. 1.15 volt fingertip lights with independently powered by a30 hr battery pack were attached to the first two fingers which were operated by moving a toggle switch on each hand.

Transferred from NASA in 1971.
