This left full pressure glove was made for the Mark IV High Altitude suit used by the U.S. Navy in the late 1950s and is considered the forerunner of the Mercury suit and gloves.
It is constructed with an interior bladder of rubber, and an exterior of green nylon with adjustment straps over the upper hand. The palms are leather.
The NASA Manned Spacecraft Center transferred this glove to the Museum in 1973.
This object is not on display at the National Air and Space Museum. It is either on loan or in storage.
